The German Club Welfare Committee (GCWC) sponsorships in 2011::

The National Children's Hospital in Quezon City This hospital caters to the poorest and gravely sick children from Manila and all corners of the Philippine archipelago. GCWC beneficiaries are chosen during regular visits to the NCH. Together with the doctors, children with the most urgent need of prompt diagnosis and medication are identified and prioritized. Since the beginning of GCWC sponsorship in 2009 over sixty children have been saved - precious young lives that would otherwise have been lost.

The Heinz Wöhlke Foundation in Baguio This charity was founded by our former member, the late Heinz Wöhlke, and receives monthly support of the GCWC. Together with this foundation the GCWC has helped ease the lives of hundreds of needy, sick and elderly people in and near Baguio.

Margaretha Blindenheim in Manila. This sanctuary is run by the German Sisters of Christian Charity. They are dedicated to the poor, abandoned and mentally challenged blind girls. It is unimaginable what misery these young women would have to suffer without this lifeline.

Mabuhay – Hilfe zum Leben e.V. This charity is the newest addition to our list of beneficiaries. "Mabuhay" is run by German Franziskaner sisters. They have brought medical help in many variations to one of the country' poorest and most neglected areas, Northern Samar.
