Theme: “PAST FORWARD”
Things from the past have a habit of finding their way into the future. It could be an older generation finding comfort in the revival, or a younger generation discovering for the first time that something old does not necessarily mean junk. And so antique shops and thrift shops survive, peddling stuff from turntables and phonograph players, old furniture and appliances, to silverware and dinnerware, as well as vintage clothes. Old posters and photographs find a new lease on life, and the iconic Vespa, Thunderbird and Mustang hit the road. Old houses are transformed into cafes, shops and Bed & Breakfasts. Currently when “Reduce, Re-use and Recycle” has become a mantra to help save the environment, Salvage Style is in season.
